Installing piles for the main building

Friday 20 Nov 2020

The sheet piling has been completed apart from finishing off the toe piles for the ILB ramp.

Work on piling for the main building has been difficult but is progressing slowly and steadily. Around half the piles have refused to be driven in just with the vibro-hammer rig that has been used up until now. A more powerful impact hammer is being delivered to the site to finish these off.

Storms and high winds have also hindered the work but it is still hoped to have all the piling done and the heavy plant removed from the site before Christmas.
